Use evidence carefully in a testimonial section

Social proof is evidence that other people have used a product or found it useful. On a landing page, it often appears as a quote, customer story, review, or logo list. The value comes from the underlying experience and its relevance to the visitor, not from the number of cards on the screen.

A quote about a specific task is easier to assess than a generic compliment. “We used it to create three campaign pages in our existing repository” tells a reader something about the workflow. Publish such a statement only when it reflects an actual experience and you have permission to use it.

Separate the claim from the layout

ConvertFast’s social proof templates contain sample quotes, names, and portraits. They demonstrate presentation. They are not a source of customer evidence and should never remain on a published product page as if they were real.

The same distinction applies to logos. An integration, a GitHub contributor, and a paying customer are different relationships. Label the section according to the relationship you can verify. A recognizable logo should not imply a stronger endorsement than the facts support.

Prepare an approved entry

Keep the original quote and the speaker’s approval in your own records. Confirm the name, role, organization, and image you can publish. If you shorten the quote, preserve its meaning. Include enough product context to make the result understandable, and avoid presenting an old release’s behavior as a promise about every future version.

A link to a public review or case study can help readers examine the context. Check that the linked source remains accessible and says what the card suggests.

Install and edit the block

Import the installed component into your page, then edit its local data. A full generated page already contains a social proof section, so modify that source instead of installing a duplicate. Remove the section if you have no approved material. A worked product example or clear documentation can still help a visitor evaluate the tool.

Maintain the evidence

Review testimonials when the quoted feature, customer relationship, or permission changes. Test long names and quotes at mobile widths, and ensure the meaning is available as text rather than only inside an image.

Do not treat a testimonial as a guaranteed result for another customer or as an automatic search-ranking improvement. Its purpose is to supply relevant, truthful context for a decision. The social proof component guide covers the source and layout checks.
